Susan E. Perkins, PhD

Dr. Susan Perkins joined the faculty of New York University, Stern School of Business in 2021 as a Visiting Associate Professor of Strategic Management. She has taught strategic management, international business, and global strategy courses at business schools globally, including NYU Stern, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, MIT Sloan School of Management, HEC Paris, and the University of Illinois – Chicago (UIC).

Her research focuses on corporate governance, ownership structures, and leadership roles in organizations to determine how strategic decisions shape organizations and societal-level outcomes. Her research has been published in journals including the Harvard Business Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, and the Global Strategy Journal.

Professor Perkins was most recently recognized as a “Hall of Fame Professor” by the Initiative for A Competitive Inner City (ICIC) for her excellence in executive education teaching Strategic Management to over 3,500 entrepreneurs. She was voted the “Best MBA Professor” by the Corporate MBA Class of 2019 at UIC Business.

Professor Perkins received her BBA with honors from Howard University, School of Business and an MBA and PhD from New York University, Stern School of Business.
